Bringing Together All Generations at Work
There is a significant number of people joining the workforce from the generation Z which makes up the largest generation to begin employment in modern time . The number of people over sixty going into retirement is also less. The human resource department will, therefore, have a task on their hands with a largely diverse workforce. The upper level management in many organizations still remains in the control of baby boomers, as much as this category has adopted mobile technology, there still remains a deficient in skills like typing. The task is in the balancing of the tech-savvy but socially deficient generation Z with the social but tech deficient boomer generation.
Generalization of generations is common and something that is a bit to avoid . Taking note of everyone for the generbecomeare becomes difficult. Many people tend to associate generation with age but it has to do more with the historical experience. The Baby Boomers have an interesting history, it was the age of free love revolution and the had kids in the 80s and the 90s and the main tech revolutions then was the computer and the internet. This generation bought tech for their children in the 90s but had no time become savvy. One unique thing about this generation is that they value loyalty deeply.
After the free love revolution the boomers would go down in history as one of the most hardworking generation. The baby boomers will be more motivated with visible productivity, they prefer to work with more hands-on analog technology than the digital one.
